A Cancer Survivor and an Activist driving programs for cancer patients
Amar Bhaskar
Amar is a postgraduate in Applied Mathematics, a certified project management professional with over 35 years of experience in information technology, a major portion of it was working with IBM. Amar was one of the founder board members of Project Management Institute Bangalore Chapter and served in various capacities for over 20 years. He was recognized as Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International for his contributions to social cause projects.
Year 2006 was a turning point in his life. Amar was diagnosed with tongue cancer and underwent the most challenging times in his life. His extreme positivity and determination to win helped him endure through the treatment and bounce back to normal life. With the urge and desire to help others, he joined a cancer support group and over the last 10 years he was instrumental in driving several new programs and providing comprehensive care to several cancer patients and guiding them back to their new normal life.
