Dr. Soumya Holla is a Senior Breast Cancer Surgeon from Bangalore in practice for the last decade. She is an expert in screening, diagnosis, counselling and holistic treatment. Dr Holla worked in multi speciality hospitals for a decade. She is an expert in Breast Conservation Surgery which give better cosmoses and results. This includes lumpectomies, nipple sparing surgeries and Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsies. She has performed around 1000 surgeries for breast cancer until date. She firmly believes that each patient’s treatment should be individualised and tailor made and is par with Western standards.
Dr Soumya is well versed in both mastectomy (removal of the entire breast) and Breast Conservation Surgery( removal of only the lump). Studies have shown that disease free longevity is higher with lower rates of depression in patients with Breast Conservation Surgeries. Similarly, SLNB (Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy) patients have very less co-morbidities as compared to patient who have had complete Axillary Dissection Surgery. She is an expert in specialised surgeries such as Microdochectomy for nipple discharge, ROLL (Radio-guided Occult Lesion Localisation).
