Tarangini – Performing Arts for Cause is an initiative launched by Mitra CanCare Foundation featuring upcoming and established artists performing Arts of Indian Heritage. The funds raised from Tarangini 2024 will be used for Childhood Cancer Patients’ treatment.

 

Tarangini 2024 Presents Live Concert by “The God of Indian Voilin” – Dr. L Subramaniam on 29th March 2024. from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Chowdiah Memorial hall.

Dr. L Subramaniam, India’s violin icon, “The Paganini of Indian Classical music”“the God of Indian Violin” is the serenity of an Indian musician combined with the magnetism of a western star. Constantly propelled from Singapore to Paris, from Delhi to Los Angeles, he has conquered every audience with the elegance and virtuosity of his style. He has received several awards and honours, including the coveted Padma Bhushan and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for “The Most Creative Artist” from the President of India.

Dr Ambi Subramaniam , Hailed as “the new king of Indian classical violin” by The Times of India and “India’s Itzhak Perlman” by Ozy Magazine, Ambi Subramaniam was trained by his father and guru Dr. L. Subramaniam since he was three years old, and gave his first performance at the age of seven.He has received awards and recognitions including the Ritz Icon of the Year Award, the Rotary Youth Award, and two Global Indian Music Awards. He was also awarded a ‘Golden Violin’ from Sri Jayendra Saraswati when he was 18. Ambi runs the SaPa in Schools program, which teaches music to over 30,000 students across the world.

Vidwan V V Ramana Murthy , “Mridanga Ratna” “Mridanga Marthanda” , is the 4th generation musician from his family. V V Ramana Murthy has been recognized as a child prodigy and holds the credit of playing his first concert at the age of 8. He has been awarded the highest grade in AIR (All India Radio) “TOP GRADE” in Mridangam in the year 2007. V V Ramana Murthy is an extensive performer for the past 4 decades with all the top Indian Classical musicians of both Carnatic and Hindustani styles as well as Jazz Groups.

Vidwan N Radhakrishnan , a renowned musician fondly called as Achasamy by the people in music field in the region. He started practicing the Ghatam from a young age, and made his debut at the age of ten. Radhakrishnan was one of those who sought to give due recognition to the Ghatam which was known only as a supporting instrument in Indian classical music. He is a disciple of Prof. Parassala Ravi and Padma Bhushan T.V. Gopalakrishnan. He has played the Ghatam in concerts by famous musicians

Vidwan G Satya Sai , Ghantasala Satya Sai is an eminent and highly talented percussionist from Hyderabad, India. He underwent his training at a young age under renowned Mridanga Vidwan Padma Shri Dr. Yella Venakteswara Rao. He even has a credit for playing South Indian Carnatic Classical Morsing in many other forms of music including Hindustani, Jazz, Rock, Fusion, Pop, Filmy & poetry, etc. Sai even acquired his place in the prestigious ”Guinness Book of World Records” for his tremendous and outstanding effort of playing Morsing continuously for 24 hours in 2009. His musical feats are part of the Limca Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.

Vidushi B R Latha

Vidhushi B R Latha is the foremost female Kanjira artist today. She learnt from from her legendary father, the late Kanjira Vidwan HP Ramachar and studied further under Vidwan Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman. She has performed with Dr. L. Subramaniam in India and abroad, and has won first place in State level competitions. She has also been awarded the Yuva Kala Bharathi, and has participated in a number of conferences around India. She is an A graded artist with All India Radio.
